Architectural Designers New Zealand
Bryan is a professional member of Architectural Designers New Zealand Inc (ADNZ). ADNZ is a nationwide organization formed in 1966 to promote and develop the skills and services offered by professional self-employed architectural designers, to their clients, working within the parameters of a code of ethics. ADNZ’s members are specialists in architectural design and construction and can initiate and complete a building project from conception through to final certification. Licensed Building Practitioner
Bryan holds a Design 2 License that recognises he is competent to design buildings of Category 1 and Category 2. All license holders are required to work within their competence and skill level and seek advice when required. All license holders are required to attend seminars and complete activities to keep up to date with the building code, building materials and design technologies which is all about staying on top of the game. Licenses are renewed annually and evidence of seminars and activities completed must be presented.
The Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) Scheme was introduced by the Building Act 2004. Its purpose is to:
- Ensure that buildings are built right the first time;
- Improve the quality of homes and building in New Zealand;
- Promote, recognize and support professional skills and behaviour in the building sector;
- Increase and maintain consumer confidence in the building industry.
All Licensed Building Practitioners are:
- Licensed to a class that sets a minimum standard of competence;
- Identified on a public register and license cards;
- Accountable to the Building Practitioners’ Board.
